How do I know what type of system is best for me?

Can I save money by installing my own system?
No! In fact it could cost you more in the long run. RAINMAN will design and install a cost-effective and efficient system. You can be certain that we will select the appropriate system for the job, while streamlining the maintenance required, to keep your landscape in top shape. We are also familiar with municipal plumbing and electrical regulations, so you won’t have to worry about costly installation mistakes.

Will I have difficulty operating the system?
RAINMAN recommend the beat controller (the brains of the system) for your needs, and set it up to suit your individual watering schedule. We will carefully and in detail explain how the system works. If necessary, you will be able to change the watering schedule by following the easy instructions on the inside of the controller cabinet.

How much will a good system cost?
The cost of a system will vary depending upon many factors such as the property size, type of landscaping and water flow rate and pressure. Will an automatic system use more water than I am currently using?
No. In fact, it will conserve water. You will never have to worry about runoff from over watering or wasting water when you forget to turn off the hose. RAINMAN recommend a rain sensor switch which will detect when it’s raining and will simply shut the system off when water is not needed.

Does having an irrigation system really save time?
Yes. You won’t have to spend another minute of your valuable leisure time watering the lawn, flowers or plants. Your new automatic system will even do all the watering when you are away from home on that much needed holiday.

Will an automatic irrigation system water as well as I can by hand?
It will do a much better job because a professionally designed system will deliver exactly the right amount of water to individual lawn and garden areas.

I generally get 100 or more millimeters of rain a year. Do I really need an irrigation system?
If it rained at your house every three days, the exact amount each time – you probably wouldn’t need an irrigation system. But nature doesn’t work that way, and the only way to ensure healthy lush growth is to make sure your lawn, plants and flowers receive a regularly timed, evenly measured amount of water. In the dry season, when there is little to no rain, your garden can suffer damage after just a few days without water.

Although every system will be tailored to meet your individual needs, a typical system will comprise; a controller (the brains of the system), valves (which open and close to release and stop the flow of water to the underground pipes), and sprinklers (which actually distribute the water to a given area).
